The Colonie Centennial Brass Choir (CCBC) was founded in November 1995 for the occasion of the Town of Colonie Centennial celebration. The group first performed at the Interfaith Celebration of Thanksgiving with a community chorus. Since then, they have performed regularly for Old-Fashioned Sunday at Pruyn House and at various senior citizens and community settings in the Capital District.
In December 2004 the CCBC joined the brass choir and select chorus from Guilderland High School in a performance featuring Daniel Pinkham’s Christmas Cantata at the Linda Norris Auditorium. Other performance venues have included the
- Cohoes Music Hall,
- Crailo State Historic Site,
- swearing-in ceremonies for Town of Colonie officials, and
- the Voorheesville centennial celebration.
Members of the group come from throughout the Capital District and represent a variety of ages and occupations. Repertoire includes classical works for brass, marches, and popular music.
